The 12V gel battery is XD Battery’s answer to the largest single use case in lead acid: a maintenance-free block that cycles daily in a solar system and asks for nothing. This page specifies the three documented capacities of the line together, because they are one product family at three sizes — the same gel VRLA construction, the same three-year warranty documentation, the same OEM/ODM availability — and the buying decision is purely about bank arithmetic.

Choosing the capacity
The 100Ah block is the default brick: one-person handling, standard footprint, the unit of small banks and replacements. The 150Ah model is the project-friendly middle — its documented one-piece MOQ makes it the natural single-system purchase, and 41 kg is still a two-hand carry rather than a logistics event. The 200Ah block halves parallel strings in larger banks and suits fixed installations where its size is planned once and forgotten. All three parallel and series freely within their own model line; none should be mixed with the others in one bank.
Gel-specific care is short and worth printing on the battery-room wall: charge with a gel profile (lower absorption voltage than flooded settings), never equalise a gel bank at flooded voltages, and keep the bank’s temperature in the design conversation — gel tolerates heat better than its VRLA siblings, which is a reason to buy it, not a reason to cook it. The solar gel battery page carries the sizing method; the blog’s guide to choosing a solar gel battery works a full example with prices’ anatomy (not prices — those move — but the cost structure that decides them).
Which gel capacity for a small off-grid cabin?
Most cabins land on two to four 100Ah blocks or a pair of 150Ah. Send the nightly load figure and we will do the bank arithmetic with you.
Can I replace one failed gel block in a bank?
A like-for-like block of the same model can join a young bank; in an aged bank, matched-set replacement protects the new block. Age of the bank decides — tell us and we will advise honestly.
Are these suitable for caravans?
Yes for house power; gel’s spill-proof construction suits vehicle installations. They are not starter batteries — the engine keeps its own.
Freight and handling, briefly
Gel blocks are sealed and classified as non-spillable, which simplifies their freight life considerably versus flooded batteries — one practical reason distributors favour the gel line for regional warehousing. They remain heavy goods: a 150Ah block at 41 kg is a planned lift, and pallet quantities are a forklift conversation. Export orders are packed for the destination’s handling reality; state the port and any transhipment in the inquiry so packing is specified for the journey the batteries will actually take.
The gel family publishes its certification names per model — CE, UL, ISO 9001 and RoHS on the documented gel models, within the wider TUV/UL/CE/CSA/CEC/JET set the company publishes — certificates available upon request with the quotation.
