Low Speed Vehicle Battery

Golf carts, sightseeing vehicles, campus and resort fleets: traction power at neighbourhood speeds.

Low Speed Vehicle Battery

Low-speed vehicles — golf carts, sightseeing cars, resort and campus shuttles, warehouse runabouts — are a battery market of their own: traction duty (real daily cycling, not starting), modest speeds, and fleet economics where the battery is the largest consumable cost. XD Battery’s low-speed vehicle series serves that market from both ends of the manufacturer’s range: prismatic LiFePO4 cells (the EVE 3.2V 105Ah cell is documented in this series) for builders who assemble traction packs, and finished pack programmes for buyers who want complete vehicle batteries.

The fleet buyer’s questions are consistent, and they are the right ones. Cycle life under the fleet’s actual depth of discharge — a rental fleet that runs carts to empty daily lives a different battery life than a resort fleet on shallow cycles. Charge window: can the pack refill inside the fleet’s overnight hours? Format: does the pack fit the vehicle’s battery tray and hold-downs, and what does the weight change do to the vehicle’s payload and handling? Every one of those is answered against the specific vehicle model and duty sheet, which is why this page routes to an engineering inquiry rather than a size chart.

Supply routes

For distributors, the low-speed vehicle line pairs naturally with the OEM/ODM programme: your brand on the pack, the manufacturer’s cells and assembly behind it. State the vehicle models and fleet size in the inquiry; traction is specified per vehicle, not per catalogue. Where the fleet allows it, standardise on one format per vehicle class — mixed formats complicate spares holding and charging discipline.

What voltages do LSV packs come in?

LSV systems are built to the vehicle’s specification — commonly 48V-class traction systems assembled from the documented cell line. Give us the vehicle model and we will spec the pack.

Lithium or lead acid for a golf cart fleet?

It is a duty-and-budget calculation: cycle count per year, charge window and cart residual value decide. We manufacture both answers and will cost both against your duty sheet.

What a fleet quotation needs from you

A serious LSV quotation starts from five facts: the vehicle model and its battery tray dimensions; the system voltage the vehicle expects; the daily duty in hours and terrain; the overnight charge window the fleet actually has; and the fleet size with its replacement rhythm. With those, the pack — chemistry, capacity and format — is specified rather than guessed, and the per-cart per-year battery cost, the number fleet managers actually budget, can be stated plainly. Without them, any price is a placeholder. The same five facts drive the lithium-versus-lead-acid answer for your fleet, which is why we ask for the duty sheet before we argue for either chemistry we manufacture.

Resort, campus and rental fleets also split on one operational question: who maintains the batteries, and how honestly? A staffed depot with a watering and cleaning routine can run traditional traction lead acid at its best economics. A distributed fleet with no battery ritual should be quoted sealed or lithium from the first conversation — the cheapest battery is the one whose maintenance contract matches the organisation that owns it.
